An exciting new feature - tell us what you think.
Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 12:17PM Tweet Over the years, we have frequently thought about making this change to our shop software, but there were always other changes that we felt where a higher priority, making a bigger difference for our customers. We’ve many times wondered if this was something that our customers needed, or even wanted, and we never had too many requests for it.
We’ve decided that now is the time to get it done! We believe that their is a demand for this feature, but that customers rather than staying around to ask about it have taken their business elsewhere.
We now accept guest checkouts at Prophecy.co.za. What does this mean for you? Easy! You no longer need an account to order on our store! For existing customers, this doesn’t really make a big difference, but for new customers, this may well be a deal maker (or breaker!). This also means that we do not keep any of your information in our database, other than on your order. We do not store your details in our customers database, nor your email address, nor anything else you give us, other than to ship your order and communicate with you with regards to that order.
But there is a drawback too, though. If you checkout via our guest checkout method, you will not be able to track your order online, since we do not link your order to any user account (which is needed for the My Account page to give you order updates). So, the only way you’ll get updates is via email and phone. Other than this, it’s exactly the same procedure to checkout as with an account. Please also bear in mind that, if you lose your order number, we cannot trace it for you, since we cannot search by your name, surname or email address (since we do not store this information). Your order number is, and always will be, your warranty, so make sure that you keep this information for any future warranty claims!
Happy shopping and as always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Congrats. Hope you find incentives to keep those guests (and normal customers) coming back again.
